This Spanish-language workshop will explore more than 500 years of history of the indigenous peoples of Canada through the KAIROS Blanket Exercise, an interactive learning experience that invites participants to take on the roles of indigenous peoples.Library: Central Branch
Following the workshop, the 40 participants will share a potluck meal, then board a school bus for a tour of local landmarks. The bus tour, which will include live music, is meant to evoke the experience of a chiva, a brightly decorated passenger bus popular in Colombia and Ecuador, now used as a party bus. For the potluck, please bring a drink, dessert or meal item to share.
